About Chuck

Chuck Gardner formed RockWater Consulting, LLC in 2017. RockWater was formed to assist school and district leaders with building a culture of achievement, responding to rapid change, and developing effective teams.

Chuck has held a variety of roles including teacher, Assistant Administrator, Assistant Principal, Principal, and currently Chief Operations Officer. His tenure as a Middle School and High School Principal resulted in the rapid improvement of CCRPI Scores, State testing scores, SAT scores, ACT scores, Advanced Placement scores, and graduation rates. His turnaround work at Frank McClarin High School led to a 31% increase in the graduation rate in just two years and removal from Georgia Department of Education Priority status. Additionally, he increased Riverwood High School’s graduation rate to 92% which remains the highest in the school’s history.

Chuck’s most recent work has been as Chief Operations Officer of a Metro Atlanta school district where he has overseen the division that includes capital programs, facility planning and maintenance, transportation, school nutrition, and information technology. His team was responsible for securing hotspots and devices for families in need, mobilizing WiFi buses, serving more than 500,000 meals to students during closure, and being one of the first school districts in the nation to implement needlepoint bipolar ionization technology on school buses.

Chuck has been a frequent speaker at National Conferences including the National Principals Conference and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) presenting on school culture.
